The company pepcom GmbH was founded by Mr Heinz-Peter Labonte halfway through the year 2001. Mr Labonte has more than 20 years of experience in the cable network market and is head of the advisory council today. In November of the same year the company acquired the city cable network of Güstrow through its subsidiary pepcom Nord. In the period following other networks were purchased, among others in Rhine-Hesse and in regions of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Thuringia and Brandenburg, e.g. in the towns of Wittenberge, Bad Kleinen, Bad Salzungen and Meiningen. After that, through the subsidiary pepcom Südost the cable network of Frankfurt (Oder) was bought from the local department of works in December 2002. During the following year the cable networks of the towns Barth in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Nuremberg, Erlangen and Fürth in Bavaria were added. In the meantime, customers of the towns Kamenz, Sebnitz and Neustadt in Saxony were supplied by the REKA regional service Kabelfernsehen GmbH (cable TV) with HQ in Kamenz. With all this, the pepcom group offers service with its independent subsidiaries to approx. 125.000 customers of more than 160.000 households and supplies them with cable TV, radio and more and more high-speed internet accesses as well. At the same time, pepcom in some networks prepares for telephone connections.
